2023 April News

4/11/23: "Biden ends COVID national emergency after Congress acts"- On 4/10/23 Biden ended the COVID response. So this is an example of things being ended too soon. There are still many people getting COVID, dying from it, and long COVID is continuing to be a major drain on both people and the medical system. Yes, things are not as bad as they were, but COVID is not over even though a lot of people like to pretend it is. https://apnews.com/article/joe-biden-covid19-coronavirus-national-emergency-e3a52722b57a6b4f24187426c27b3b39?fbclid=IwAR3uI1wTCTjl5TF7ZCUg1Iitth9AMJYTVNJ6JVqFwB6YWU-IfjGO1wkXGmA

Exact Publishing Date Unknown (April): "San Diego Community College District employees terminated over vaccine status"- Good on them. This is one where workers have no right to complain. Certain employment fields have different health and safety regulations and if you are not wanting to follow the rules for that profession then you should find one that meets your own morals or requirements. No one is forcing these workers to be in higher education and they need to find work elsewhere, although I don't know many fields that don't have any rules and if they disagree with basic science who knows what else they won't want to do in other industries.  https://fox5sandiego.com/news/local-news/san-diego-community-college-district-employees-terminated-over-vaccine-status/amp/

2023 March News

3/24/23: "Musk clashes with WHO director over global pandemic treaty"- Musk really needs to stay out of this. Just because you have money doesn't mean that you should try to take a stance on everything including things you do not know about. From what I have been able to find on Musk he has bachelor's degrees in physics and economics (1). This makes perfect sense for him doing his whole space business, but he does not have a background in politics or medical science. I guess it is a priviligege of the rich to try and make people believe that you know what you are talking about. https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/other/musk-clashes-with-who-director-over-global-pandemic-treaty/ar-AA192wsC?ocid=winp1taskbar&cvid=7ddc1d8eda3342ff9331b6da6dbaece7&ei=958

Covid In Photos

When I went to grab some subs I saw this sign showing that Firehouse Subs still have not gone back to having their hot sauce bottles. They had little to go packs of 3 different kinds that you could grab. I missed all of the different options they used to have including the fruit ones. Even though I think people should still be careful of covid, I think now that the world has returned to 'normal' that companies should give people access to what they had offered and let them make the choice to use them. They could also have wipes out for people to wipe the bottles down. That way everyone is happy.

Covid in Photos

This was taken at RMR (VA hospital in Aurora, CO). The VA are still on high covid alert and masks are still required. This makes sense since while we were in the ER it seemed like at least half of the people there were sick with covid. Some of the people had been waiting hours to get the results of a test that is supposed to be done in 15 minutes. The VA just doesn't have the staff it needs.

This was the trash can by the elevators in one of the parking garages. They don't even have the staff to keep up with the trash.
